Lisa Larrabee grew up in Haverhill, Massachusetts.  The city offered a diversity of food exposure, as it was a cultural melting pot.  Italian bakeries, delis, and pizzerias,  meat and  fish markets, and local farms for fresh fruits and vegetables were all available.

Her first exposure to cooking was watching her mother create in their home kitchen.  She added to her food education by taking a cooking class offered in middle school.  When she was old enough to work, given her appreciation for food, she applied at the local grocery store.  Lisa was hired on to the produce department and worked there through high school.

While taking time off the food scene to bring up a family, Lisa studied Psychology at UMASS, but this was put on hold as the family made the move to Texas.  Always wanting to obtain further education, she decided to go back to her love for food and enrolled in the Dallas Art Institute’s culinary program. 

Lisa’s food career had been born again.  She has been the owner/operator of a Texas BBQ Restaurant and a Catering Company, spent 5 years with Central Market, HEB as a specialty Deli/Cheese department manager, worked in Import and Domestic Cheese distribution, and most recently joined Eatzi’s in October, 2011.

Lisa is a sports enthusiast. She enjoys Tennis, NFL football, most importantly the New England Patriots, and participating in fantasy football leagues. Lisa thrives on competition, in both her business and personal life. Lisa is also a pet lover. She recently rescued a Dachshund/Pit Bull puppy from Adopt–A–Pet, an organization which frequents our Oak Lawn Eatzi’s location. She currently resides in Frisco, TX with her family and animals, where they have been since relocating to the Dallas area in 2001.
